Creeping
Things
The word “insect”
is not in the Bible. The American Heritage Dictionary defines “creep”
as (moving) with the body close to the ground. Therefore, taking
the obvious meaning in context “creeping things” refers
to insects.
Some “creeping
things” may refer to non-insect arthropods, various “bugs”,
and such as lizards.
Note: Many
of the Biblical references to “beasts” include insects
which are actually “minibeasts”.

Genesis 1:24
And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after
his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after
his kind: and it was so.

references to “fowls” and many apply to birds (and maybe
